BLU Home Initiative

BLU Home is dedicated to benefit The De Rosa Foundation For Colon Cancer Research And Prevention a 501 C (3) not-for-profit organization with its mission to spread awareness and promote research and prevention of colorectal cancer. All proceeds raised by the foundation through contributions from this initiative will be distributed equally to support the Hereditary Colorectal Cancer Family Registry at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center under the direction of José G. Guillem M.D., MPH, FACS and The North Shore University Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery under the direction of John A. Procaccino, M.D., FACS, FASCRS.

By retaining a real estate broker referred by BLU Home to either sell or buy real estate you will work together towards a common goal to raise much needed funds to help spread awareness, promote research and prevention through early detection and treatment.

BLU Home Mission Statement

Helen Constantopes Tzelios sits on the Board of Directors as secretary of The DeRosa Foundation. As a Licensed RE Broker Associate of Douglas Elliman Real Estate she established BLU Home Initiative to continue to support The DeRosa Foundation For Colon Cancer Research and Prevention.

She structured this real estate service platform to enable a group of licensed real estate brokers from various offices throughout the United States to donate a percentage of their commissions to the Foundation on behalf of their clients. Each of the carefully screened and selected professionals are not only successful within the communities they service, but also had the dreadful disease cancer hit home, as they or their loved ones were diagnosed. The real estate brokers associated with the BLU Home Initiative have also demonstrated tireless efforts and an ongoing personal commitment to the fight against cancer with an active role in cancer organizations.

Having the CIPS designation enables Helen to target global markets for additional exposure to advertise her listings, and also to service international clients here in the New York Area. Helen is a consistent Top Producer and a Chairmans Gold Circle, Presidential Circle and Leading Edge award recipient. She began her Residential Real Estate career at Douglas Elliman Real Estate in the year 2000 as a Licensed Sales Associate, a specialist in Residential Sales & Leasing, servicing the Northeastern & Northwestern sections of Queens County as well as the North Shore of Long Island. Her areas of strength and expertise are in the resale and leasing of residential and investment properties as well as in new development consulting and sales. Prior to her career in Residential Sales and leasing with Douglas Elliman RE, she worked for various large commercial real estate and construction corporations based in NYC as an accountant in their corporate management & accounting departments. Helen attended the College of Business Administration at St Johns University where she majored in Accounting/Finance.

In addition to her active real estate business schedule. Helen is also on the board of directors as secretary of The DeRosa Foundation for Colon Cancer Research and Prevention, a 501 C (3) not- for-profit organization dedicated to raising colon cancer awareness and promoting colon cancer research to advance its prevention and early treatment. All proceeds raised by the foundation benefit a research team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital and the university fellowship in colorectal surgery at North Shore University Hospital. Helen established BLU Home Initiative, a real estate service platform that enables a group of licensed real estate brokers from various offices to donate a percentage of their commissions to the Foundation on behalf of their clients.
